Medical and Insurance

We have partnered with Vikand (https://vikand.com/) the leading expert in maritime medical services to provide a comprehensive onboard healthcare approach, including emergency care and when necessary, referral services to onshore medical facilities.

The onboard medical center will be staffed with Vikand's qualified health professionals and equipped to handle a wide range of medical situations.

Villa Vie Residences is equipped with expert medical staff and facilities for immediate healthcare needs. For serious cases that require emergency medical attention, we have partnered with a global emergency evacuation service company to provide swift on and off-shore evacuations. 

Please provide us with a list of your prescriptions in advance, and our onboard pharmacy will be able to fulfill them for you.

Complimentary medical visits include standard visits necessary if the Resident is feeling unwell or has been injured. Routine care or necessary ongoing medical visits beyond the standard visits will be charged an additional fee.

Medical insurance such as VA or Medicare is not accepted. VVRI recommends that Residents obtain independent medical travel insurance.

We are currently in the process of establishing a partnership with an insurer to offer coverage for our 3.5-year journeys. However, segment-based insurance is already a practical alternative.
